IT Data & Platform Engineer

Salary: £60,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
• Strong experience with Python or PySpark.
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Databricks or Snowflake.
• Knowledge of SQL and data transformation techniques.
• Experience building and maintaining data pipelines.
• Previous experience working within the construction industry.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Experience working within Agile environments and using Git repositories is desirable.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and maintain modern data platform solutions.
• Build, optimise and manage data ingestion pipelines.
• Develop data transformation and modelling solutions using Python, PySpark and SQL.
• Support the implementation of data lakes, data warehouses and modern analytics architectures.
• Ensure high standards of data quality, security and performance.
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• Produce technical documentation, troubleshooting guides and best practice documentation.
• Work within Agile methodologies and use Git-based version control.
• Continuously improve existing platforms and stay up to date with emerging technologies.

This permanent role is based in Canary Wharf and offers a hybrid working arrangement after probation, with full-time office working expected following that period.
