Intermediate/Senior DevOps

Salary: £85,000 - 90,000 per year

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience, or 5 years minimum for senior level, with Python and shell scripting
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience, or 5 years minimum for senior level, with Linux
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience, or 5 years minimum for senior level, with containerisation technologies such as Docker or Podman
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience, or 5 years minimum for senior level, with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, GitLabCI, CircleCI, or TravisCI
• Experience applying DevOps practices
• Experience in an operational environment with a solid understanding of distributed systems and troubleshooting network-related issues
• Excellent understanding of software delivery practices such as Git branching models and configuration management
• Ability to work under pressure and solve challenging problems efficiently
• Automation-first mindset
• Desire to share knowledge and expand technical skills
• Experience using Kubernetes is preferred
• Working knowledge of Kafka is preferred
• Experience with Xcode, Swift, or App Store Connect is highly desirable
• Experience working in a highly regulated environment is preferred
• Practical experience with feature toggling, no-downtime deployments, and blue-green deployments is preferred
• Knowledge of security best practices within the software development lifecycle is preferred
• Experience with agile development methodologies is preferred
• Excellent knowledge of build tools such as Maven or Gradle is preferred

Responsibilities:

• Develop on-premise solutions as part of a software engineering team while leveraging DevOps best practices
• Design, implement, and support automated and scalable solutions
• Work closely with team members, other development teams, and key stakeholders to ensure seamless software delivery
• Design, enhance, and implement reusable CI and CD solutions using current industry best practices
• Monitor and ensure smooth operation of production and test environments by building dashboards and alerting rule sets
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to automate requirements early in the development lifecycle
• Share knowledge and solutions within the DevOps community to maximise efficiencies and standardisation
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues by reviewing dashboards and logs, then implement solutions to prevent recurrence
• Write and run deployment automation tools using Helm, Ansible, or similar tools
• Integrate platform technologies such as Kafka and Kubernetes
