Head of Digital and Data Portfolio

Salary: £50,000 - 90,000 per year

Requirements:

• Significant experience in managing the implementation of projects for clinical and non-clinical systems
• Experience writing business cases to secure additional funding for service developments
• Experience writing papers for board and sub-committees
• Experience managing multiple competing priorities and delivering strong results
• Proven experience using general office IT systems and advanced use of Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, MS Project, and other project management tools
• Proven experience managing people to deliver large projects
• Proven experience managing third-party suppliers to deliver projects on time and within budget
• Proven experience producing analytical reports using quantitative and qualitative data analysis
• Experience applying specialist transformation and technical knowledge across a range of system applications
• Successful strategic management experience in a complex organisation
• Professional qualification such as PRINCE2, or equivalent experience

Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the planning, coordination, and delivery of a diverse portfolio of digital and data projects
• Ensure digital and data projects align with organisational priorities, service objectives, and the wider digital strategy
• Identify, track, benchmark, and realise the benefits of digital and data projects
• Work collaboratively across departments to coordinate project activity, support engagement, and ensure effective implementation across operational areas
• Provide expert programme and project management advice, assurance, and governance to support effective decision-making
• Prepare and present updates, reports, and recommendations to directors, senior management teams, and relevant committees
• Represent the organisation at local and regional forums where required
• Contribute to our vision, strategic objectives, and key work programmes through agile programme and project delivery
• Coordinate activity and draft reports for the Chief Digital Officer
• Support the management of our digital and data project portfolio
• Help develop key skills within the Programme Team through guidance and mentorship
• Deliver successful digital and data projects that contribute to our strategic goals
• Develop comprehensive business cases to advance digital and data-specific projects
• Identify and document requirements for each project in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
• Support the procurement and delivery of projects in a timely and professional manner, following PRINCE2 and Agile principles
• Prepare and implement project documentation to meet agreed milestone delivery dates
• Coordinate tendering processes while maintaining flexibility throughout the project lifecycle
• Communicate and engage with staff at all levels to ensure understanding of our digital and data-driven strategy and its benefits
