Global Head of Application Management
Job Description
Salary: £90,000 - 125,000 per year
Requirements:- We require a minimum of 12 years experience in Application Management, Application Support, Technology Operations, or Service Management leadership roles within large enterprise environments.
- We require proven experience leading global Application Support, Release Management, and Hosting/Environment teams.
- We require strong knowledge of ITIL frameworks, including Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management.
- We require experience working with enterprise application environments across cloud and hybrid infrastructure platforms.
- Exposure to tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or Azure Monitor is advantageous.
- We require the ability to lead large, geographically distributed teams and build effective relationships with senior business and technology stakeholders.
- We require experience establishing governance, risk, and control frameworks, including audit and compliance management.
- We require strong vendor and third-party supplier management experience.
- We require experience managing budgets, resource planning, and operational demand within a complex technology environment.
- We require experience working within a regulated industry, preferably Financial Services.
- We are responsible for developing and implementing the target operating model for the Application Support, Release, and Hosting Group, ensuring it is future-proof and aligned to global best practice.
- We lead, mentor, and develop a team of technology professionals, including functional leads who are direct reports.
- We work alongside other Technology business areas, including Software Development, to shape and deliver the strategy and provide optimum technology and service for our customers in pursuit of our goals.
- We own the standardisation of practices and processes in line with the ITIL framework and approve any deviations.
- As part of the Technology Operations Leadership team, we are responsible for delivering the overall Application Support strategy in collaboration with other Technology teams.
- We ensure the consistent application, implementation, and improvement of approved policies, strategies, and initiatives within the teams.
- We set strategy and policy, establishing frameworks for effective implementation, including risk management, targets, and budgets.
- We develop and implement governance across the function, including escalation protocols and key decision-making for Application Management.
- We ensure policies, procedures, and controls are maintained and regularly reviewed.
- We respond appropriately to audit actions.
- We oversee vendor relationships with third parties and advisors.
- We lead and contribute to a range of strategic group-wide projects as subject matter experts.
- We ensure adherence to all risk, control, and governance frameworks.
- We monitor and manage demand for Application Management, Environments, and Release functions to control team run-rate.
