ETL Developer

Salary: £50,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong proficiency in Oracle databases, including advanced development of packages, procedures, and materialized views
• Strong experience in performance optimization and troubleshooting
• Strong experience building large data warehouses, dimensional data models, and ETL/ELT processes
• Advanced knowledge of Oracle system administration
• Excellent data analysis, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica PowerCenter, Talend, SSIS, or cloud-native ETL/ELT equivalents
• Expert-level SQL/T-SQL/PL-SQL and strong experience with Sybase, DB2, Oracle, or modern cloud warehouses such as Snowflake or BigQuery
• Unix/Linux shell scripting and Python skills
• Experience with Autosys or BMC Control-M and real-time event-streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka
• Solid understanding of dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, and data lineage mapping
• Relevant financial services experience and knowledge of the cleared derivatives lifecycle are desirable
• Must operate via an Umbrella or PAYE engagement model

Responsibilities:

• Lead the data migration strategy, moving books, records, and positions from FIS GMI to strategic target platforms
• Analyze and reverse-engineer legacy FIS GMI data structures, including transaction registers, position files, and margin master files
• Architect, develop, and tune enterprise-grade ETL pipelines to extract, cleanse, and transform derivative lifecycle data
• Map clearing workflows, including trade capture, position allocations, give-up/give-in workflows, exchange fee schedules, and margins across global exchanges and CCPs
• Work with Business Analysts, Risk, Product Control, and Operations teams to translate functional specifications into production-grade ETL code
• Optimize large batch and real-time streaming data loads to meet overnight batch processing windows
• Support the transition of exchange-traded derivatives, including futures and options, and cleared OTC products, including interest rate swaps, credit default swaps, and repos
• Ensure data accuracy, regulatory compliance, and minimal disruption to daily clearing operations
