Data Architect

Salary: £70,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience collaborating with Data Engineering, Architecture and Technology teams to deliver practical, business-focused data solutions.
• Strong background in data architecture, data modelling, data mapping and master data management, including designing scalable solutions for reporting, analytics and business growth.
• Extensive experience building and enhancing enterprise data platforms, such as data lakes, data hubs and operational data stores; cloud experience is preferred, with Azure particularly beneficial.
• Understanding of modern data integration approaches, including APIs, GraphQL, JSON and XML.
• Hands-on experience with SQL, Python and Databricks.
• Power BI experience is an advantage.
• An approachable, proactive mindset and confidence engaging stakeholders, solving complex challenges and working in Agile environments.

• Build partnerships across Data Engineering, Architecture, Governance and Data Quality teams to support trusted, well-governed data and confident decision-making.
• Design and implement data architecture, modelling and master data solutions that provide a reliable foundation for reporting, analytics and customer insight.
• Enable data flow across systems using modern integration approaches to improve operational efficiency and unlock value from data.
• Drive the development of scalable, cloud-based data platforms that support business growth, innovation and strategic transformation programmes.
• Lead data architecture across complex change initiatives, influence stakeholders, resolve challenges and deliver solutions that enhance customer outcomes and long-term business value.
• Help ensure our centre-of-excellence objectives are carried through projects across all business units.

This permanent Project Data Architect role is based in our dynamic data architecture team of four. It offers a salary of up to £78,000, based on skills and experience, and a 35-hour working week. The role is hybrid, with our office in Birmingham and typically two days per week in the office. We offer an annual bonus, 28 days holiday plus a culture day (rising to 30 days with service), flexible hybrid working, a company pension with matching plus 2% (up to 10%), secure underground Birmingham city-centre parking subject to availability, salary-sacrifice schemes, enhanced family leave and two volunteering days.
