Configuration Engineer

Salary: £78,000 - 78,000 per year

Requirements:

• Background in Configuration Engineering, Configuration Management, or CAD Design
• Experience working with engineering drawings, CAD data, and technical documentation
• Understanding of PLM/PDM systems and engineering configuration control
• Comfortable working across engineering teams to gather, validate, and organize technical information

Responsibilities:

• Work with engineers and project teams to understand existing CAD designs, engineering data, and documentation
• Support the migration and configuration of engineering information into the new PLM system
• Ensure engineering data is accurate, structured, and appropriately controlled
• Apply configuration management principles across engineering designs, documentation, and product information
• Support the wider PLM transformation by helping establish effective processes and best practices

We are an established UK engineering organisation supporting a major transformation of our engineering systems and processes. We are implementing a new Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system and are seeking a Configuration Engineer to support the transition of engineering data, CAD designs, and associated documentation. This is a hands-on, six-month contract paying £300 per day inside IR35. The role is remote following four days of initial onsite onboarding in Barnstaple, North Devon. BPSS screening will be conducted. Defence experience is not essential; we welcome candidates from commercial engineering environments. Interviews are being arranged immediately.
