Cloud Infrastructure Architect

Salary: £65,000 - 75,000 per year

Requirements:

• Several years of strong cloud and infrastructure engineering experience
• Experience designing solutions and making technical decisions at senior or lead level
• Strong experience with Azure, AWS or GCP
• Experience with infrastructure as code
• Experience with cloud networking, identity and access management, automation and cloud security
• Experience with Terraform, Bicep, Kubernetes, serverless architecture, hybrid environments and FinOps is desirable

Responsibilities:

• Design scalable, secure and highly available cloud infrastructure
• Create reference architectures, technical standards and design patterns
• Design solutions across Azure, AWS or GCP environments
• Support migrations from on-premise infrastructure into the cloud
• Define infrastructure as code approaches using Terraform, Bicep, ARM or similar
• Design cloud networking across VNETs/VPCs, routing, DNS, load balancing and firewalls
• Build security into cloud architecture through Zero Trust, IAM, RBAC, encryption and network segmentation
• Design resilience, disaster recovery and backup strategies
• Work across Kubernetes, containers and serverless technologies
• Drive automation and improve the performance and cost efficiency of the cloud estate
• Evaluate new technologies and help shape future technical direction
• Mentor engineers and help develop the wider cloud and platform engineering capability

We are a growing UK organisation investing heavily in our cloud and technology capability. This is a hybrid role based in Liverpool with a salary of £65,000 to £75,000. You will work closely with our Head of Platform Engineering to help define our cloud architecture, technical standards and longer-term direction as we modernise our wider infrastructure environment.
