Backend Software Engineer Python
Job Description
Salary: £85,000 - 85,000 per year
Requirements:- We are looking for strong Python backend development skills.
- Ruby experience would be useful, but it is not essential.
- We need a strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented programming, data structures, and design patterns.
- We expect comfort using AI tools such as Claude in your everyday workflow.
- We are looking for experience in a start-up or small business environment, with a desire to work on greenfield projects and take ownership.
- We need someone who is collaborative and has great communication skills.
- You should be happy to take part in technical discussions and decision-making.
- We are looking for a degree in a STEM discipline.
- We design and develop greenfield, data-centric applications.
- We build systems that monitor Arctic ice flows and other data points for our clients.
- We work with organisations in government, defence, energy exploration, and conservation.
- We focus on Python backend services.
- We take ownership of projects end to end, from ideation through to production.
- We contribute to new features and applications throughout the development lifecycle.
