Backend Software Engineer Java Kafka

Salary: £40,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• We need Java development skills, including multi-threading and concurrency.
• We need experience with Spring Boot and microservices environments.
• We need a good knowledge of REST APIs.
• We need experience with Kafka or similar messaging tools.
• We need a good understanding of AWS.
• We need a thorough understanding of software development and Computer Science fundamentals, such as Object Oriented Programming, Data Structures, and Design Patterns.
• We need familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• We are looking for someone who is collaborative, enjoys problem solving, and likes interacting with clients.

Responsibilities:

• We design, develop, and deliver a range of transformational projects for clients.
• We work mainly within the financial services sector.
• We focus on Kafka messaging, migrating legacy systems to AWS, and introducing CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments.
• We collaborate with a team focused on engineering best practice and continuous improvement of client systems.
• We work closely with business and client stakeholders and contribute to continual learning and development.
