Job Description

Salary: £61,000 - 101,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Experience delivering data solutions end to end

  • Experience working with cloud-based data platforms
  • An understanding of how to build reliable, well-tested data systems
  • Technical expertise in Azure data technologies (e.g. Azure Cosmos DB, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory)
  • Python or another object-oriented programming language
  • Experience with Azure Databricks and/or Apache Spark
  • Experience with reporting or visualisation tools such as Power BI, MicroStrategy, or similar platforms
  • Experience with CI/CD workflows, including automated build, test, and deployment pipelines
  • Experience using version control systems such as Git
  • Exposure to Agile delivery frameworks (e.g. Scrum or Kanban)
  • Awareness of both cloud and on-premises infrastructure considerations
Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver data solutions using the Microsoft Azure Data Platform
  • Collaborate with other engineers through pairing, code reviews, and shared problem-solving
  • Support teams in understanding data, telemetry, and operational issues
  • Explore new tools or approaches through proof-of-concept work, including performance, data modelling, and cost considerations
  • Work with Lead Data Engineers, Engineering Managers, and Solution Architects to develop and improve engineering standards and practices
  • Build solutions that are reliable, well-tested, maintainable, and automated through modern CI/CD tooling
  • Contribute to an agile, cross-functional team and take shared ownership of delivery quality
  • Stay curious about emerging data technologies and identify opportunities to apply them where they add business value
