Applied AI Engineer

Salary: £120,000 - 140,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience building LLM-driven systems, including RAG
• Commercial Python development experience
• Strong understanding of clean, maintainable and well-tested software
• Fluency with agentic tooling
• Excellent technical communication skills
• Bachelors degree from a leading or internationally recognised university
• A strong product mindset and focus on delivering user value
• A self-starting, creative approach to problem solving
• Desirable: deep learning and traditional machine learning
• Desirable: LLM fine-tuning
• Desirable: microservice architecture
• Desirable: modern LLM tooling and evaluation approaches

Responsibilities:

• Design and build solutions using LLMs, RAG and related AI technologies
• Develop and maintain high-quality production software
• Architect and maintain microservice-based systems
• Take ownership of technical problems from concept through to production
• Work closely with research and engineering teams in an Agile/Scrum environment
• Provide technical guidance and support to more junior engineers
