AI Engineer with Agentic Experience

Salary: £48,000 - 68,000 per year

Requirements:

• We have 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• We have strong backend development experience with Python and a track record of clean, maintainable, testable production code.
• We have experience with production API design and delivery, preferably with FastAPI, including versioning, documentation using OpenAPI/Swagger, and observability.
• We have cloud experience, preferably AWS, beyond core compute, storage, and database services, such as eventing, queues, serverless, logging/monitoring, and secrets.
• We have experience with Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
• We have strong debugging and problem-solving skills, with ownership across the SDLC.
• We have experience building agents.
• We have experience with vector databases and RAG patterns, including indexing, chunking, embeddings, and retrieval.
• We have experience integrating LLMs such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-source models, including prompt design, safety and guardrails, and cost/performance tuning.
• We have strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• We can communicate with business and technical audiences and produce design documents for both client-facing and internal stakeholders.
• We have technical thought leadership, excellent problem-solving ability, and an aptitude for technical innovation.
• Nice to have: experience with AgentCore, AWS Neptune, and Amazon API Gateway.
• Nice to have: familiarity with ML fundamentals relevant to content generation, including embeddings, tokenization, evaluation, fine tuning/LoRA, and prompt-plus-retrieval evaluation.
• Nice to have: frontend development experience with React, preferably TypeScript, including state management, routing, API integration, and component testing.
• Nice to have: understanding of event-driven architectures.
• We have English proficiency at B2 Upper Intermediate level.

Responsibilities:

• We work closely with the business team, business analysts, and architects to quickly understand new requirements and identify system changes.
• We work day to day with the development team, designers, copywriters, and other IT teams.
• We develop and present recommendations based on analysis of the current solution.
• We assist in design peer reviews and code peer reviews.
• We build and unit test functional enhancements.
• We identify areas for code refactoring.
• We review and contribute to development processes and procedures to support continuous improvement of the team.
• We offer solutions and designs to resolve process, project, or program issues.
• We provide recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• We defend our recommendations and support them confidently.
