AI Enablement Lead - Software & Product Engineering

Requirements:

• Meaningful, recent experience applying GenAI within software and product development
• Background in software engineering, product engineering, or technology leadership, with deep applied GenAI experience
• Ability to clearly explain what we personally built, implemented, or changed
• Relevant experience with Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI development tooling
• Experience with agents, skills, and agentic workflows
• Experience with AI development harnesses and orchestration
• Experience with AI-assisted software engineering
• Experience with automated testing and code review
• Experience embedding AI across the software and product development lifecycle
• Experience taking engineering teams from experimentation into repeatable adoption
• Experience measuring productivity and efficiency improvements
• Technical credibility, with the ability to work directly with engineers and communicate effectively with senior technology and product leaders

Responsibilities:

• Work directly with engineering and product teams to move from AI experimentation to everyday use
• Embed AI into the product development lifecycle
• Support AI-assisted software development, including agents, skills, development workflows, automated testing, and review
• Help shape new approaches to how software is planned, built, and maintained
• Work squad by squad to help engineers understand what is possible and implement new approaches
• Develop repeatable practices that can scale across the wider business
• Identify additional opportunities for AI adoption that we may not have considered
• Deliver measurable improvements in engineering productivity, efficiency, and value delivered to customers

We are an established software and technology business hiring an AI Enablement Lead for a 6 to 12 month contract role, based in Manchester or London with hybrid working. This is a hands-on position focused on helping our product and engineering teams use GenAI in practical ways across software development. The role is outside IR35 and offers up to £1,250 per day. We are looking for someone who can work closely with engineering teams, bring technical credibility, and help drive measurable improvements in how we build and deliver software.
