Technical Business Analyst - Medical Imaging RIS/HL7/DICOM
Job Description
Salary: £91,000 - 97,500 per year
Requirements:- Strong experience as a Technical Business Analyst in healthcare or medical imaging
- Practical knowledge of PACS, RIS, DICOM, HL7, Modality Worklist, imaging modalities, and integration engines
- Understanding of the imaging lifecycle: RIS, Modality Worklist, modality, DICOM, PACS, and viewer/VNA
- Strong requirements-gathering and stakeholder-management skills
- Sufficient technical understanding to work effectively with radiology users, infrastructure and integration teams, and PACS/RIS vendors
- Experience with DICOMweb, VNA, IHE profiles, MPPS, Storage Commitment, interface engines, imaging migration, or PACS/RIS replacement programmes is advantageous
- Analyse and document end-to-end PACS/RIS and radiology workflows
- Gather and translate clinical and technical requirements into functional and non-functional specifications
- Define integration requirements across RIS, PACS, imaging modalities, VNA, viewers, and integration engines
- Analyse DICOM workflows, including Modality Worklist, C-STORE, query/retrieve, MPPS, and Storage Commitment
- Support HL7 interfaces for patient demographics, imaging orders, updates, and radiology results
- Produce interface specifications, data mappings, workflow diagrams, and AE Title/IP/port matrices
- Review supplier DICOM Conformance Statements and interface specifications
- Define requirements for patient/study reconciliation, accession numbers, Study UIDs, patient merges, and exception handling
- Document PACS/RIS status mappings, monitoring, error handling, resilience, and downtime requirements
- Support integration testing, UAT, cutover, migration, and operational readiness
- Work with technical teams and vendors to investigate and resolve interface and imaging workflow issues
