Technical Solution Architect II

Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience designing and delivering complex networking solutions for customers.
• Deep, hands-on expertise in interior routing, Segment Routing (SR-MPLS/SRv6), BGP/EVPN carrier services, traffic engineering, and Converged Optical & Packet Networking on at least one major platform: Cisco IOS XR, Junos, or Nokia SR OS.
• Expert-level knowledge equivalent to Cisco CCIE Service Provider, HPE (Juniper) JNCIE-SP, or Nokia Service Routing Architect (SRA).
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills, including the ability to produce publish-ready content on short cycles.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently across long-term, complex architectural engagements and diverse, cross-functional teams.
• Multi-vendor hands-on fluency across Cisco, Juniper, and Nokia beyond the primary certification platform is preferred.
• Experience with OEM network management and automation platforms, such as Cisco Crosswork, Juniper Routing Director, or Nokia NSP, is preferred.
• Experience with security-adjacent areas, including MPLS/VPN hardening, BGP RPKI/route validation, and PQC (Post-Quantum Cryptography) routing, is preferred.
• Experience with AI-driven network operations, AI-assisted assurance, and closed-loop automation platforms is preferred.
• Experience extending core routing into hyperscaler cloud connectivity, including AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, or Google Cloud Interconnect, is preferred.
• Data Center Interconnect (DCI) experience, including EVPN-VXLAN fabric extension between data centers, is preferred.
• Ability to translate complex multi-vendor designs into clear narratives for technical and executive audiences.
• Ability to surface customers technical requirements and recommend solutions that support their desired outcomes.
• Ability to collaborate across technical domains and teams on complex, multi-technology solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design multi-vendor Core Networking solutions across Underlay Transport, Carrier Services, and Traffic Engineering for service provider, large enterprise, and public sector customers.
• Develop Bills of Materials, including cross-vendor equivalencies, to support proposed Core Networking solutions.
• Present designs and Bill of Materials rationale to technical and executive stakeholders.
• Lead customer workshops and briefings, and support RFP/RFI responses.
• Design and set up hands-on lab builds in our Advanced Technology Center.
• Scope and execute customer Proof of Concept engagements with defined success criteria.
• Publish technical content that establishes our organization as a technical market leader.
• Maintain OEM certifications and vendor relationships.
• Mentor customers and our team members on current and emerging Core Networking technologies.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams on complex, multi-technology solutions.

In this role, you will lead technical pre-sales design and delivery, architect multi-vendor solutions, develop Bills of Materials, present designs to customers, support lab builds and Proofs of Concept, and publish technical content.
