Security Architect (Zero Trust) - DV Cleared

Salary: £54,000 - 94,000 per year

Requirements:

• Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance is essential; previous DV or SC clearance is desirable
• At least 10 years of experience in Cyber Security and Information Security
• At least 5 years of experience in a Security Architect position
• Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale Zero Trust transformation programmes
• Strong background in defence, aerospace, government or other highly regulated sectors
• Experience leading security transformation and modernisation initiatives
• Deep expertise in Zero Trust Architecture principles and implementation methodologies, including NIST 800-207 and modern security architecture frameworks
• Expert understanding of Identity and Access Management technologies, including Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, PIM and PAM
• Strong understanding of network security, micro-segmentation and secure access technologies
• Proficiency in cloud security across Azure, AWS or equivalent platforms
• Knowledge of SIEM, EDR/XDR, DLP, CASB, ZTNA, WAF and firewall technologies
• Understanding of cryptography, encryption standards and secure communication protocols
• Familiarity with MOD security requirements, defence standards and accreditation processes
• Knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST CSF and CIS Controls frameworks
• Strong strategic thinking, technical depth, communication, stakeholder engagement, problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to influence technical teams and executive stakeholders
• Desirable: experience delivering Microsoft Zero Trust programmes; CISSP, CISM, SABSA, TOGAF or equivalent certifications; Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect Expert certification; AWS Security Specialty or Azure Security Engineer certification; experience with SASE, SSE or ZTNA; knowledge of ITAR compliance and export controls; Armed Forces, Defence or National Security background

Responsibilities:

• Define and deliver enterprise-wide Zero Trust strategies and roadmaps, and design architectures aligned with NIST 800-207 principles
• Implement identity-first security models, continuous verification, adaptive access controls, micro-segmentation and least-privilege initiatives
• Design holistic security architectures and enterprise security strategies, and architect defence-in-depth solutions across network, cloud, endpoint and application layers
• Lead security architecture reviews and technical security assessments, and develop security standards, reference architectures and design patterns
• Architect and implement IAM, MFA, Single Sign-On, Conditional Access and PAM solutions
• Lead identity governance and administration initiatives and develop secure authentication and authorisation frameworks
• Assess cyber threats and risks; lead risk assessments and vulnerability management programmes
• Design incident response, threat intelligence, cyber defence, security monitoring, detection and response capabilities
• Develop cyber resilience and business continuity frameworks
• Design cloud security architectures across Azure, AWS and hybrid environments, as well as endpoint, DLP, application, API and secure SDLC solutions
• Architect SOC and SIEM capabilities, and lead security technology evaluation, selection and implementation
• Lead security technical teams, provide architectural mentoring, and establish design standards, architecture patterns and governance processes
• Drive technical decisions through security design reviews, document architecture decisions and specifications, and support security transformation programmes
• Serve as a subject matter expert on Security Architecture and Zero Trust initiatives
• Present recommendations to senior leaders and programme stakeholders, lead architecture workshops and customer engagements, and explain complex security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
