Senior Security Consultant
Job Description
Salary: £50,000 - 70,000 per year
Requirements:- We are looking for a technically excellent and commercially astute candidate with a qualification in security risk management, political science, international relations, terrorism studies or an engineering discipline, or significant demonstrable experience in security risk assessment or security advisory services.
- We require at least 3 years experience in a relevant security profession within the last five years.
- We require a degree or equivalent qualification (such as N/SVQ level 5) relevant to security.
- We require full membership of a relevant professional body, institute or certification scheme with a professional code of conduct, or registration as a Chartered Security Professional (CSyP) with the Security Institute or as a General Security Advisor (GSA) with the Register of Security Engineers and Specialists (RSES).
- We are looking for a track record in professional services consultancy or similar client- or site-facing roles involving security advice.
- We require the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to people at all levels, particularly non-experts, with strong report-writing, oral communication and visual presentation skills.
- We require the ability to assess physical and personnel security risk through threat, vulnerability and risk assessment, and to develop proportionate, sustainable and innovative risk-management solutions that address design and operational criteria.
- We require experience managing projects and teams, including financial performance, programme delivery, project scoping and direct client engagement.
- We are looking for the ability to help inspire and develop junior staff and contribute to the development of our services.
- We consider a rounded knowledge of protective security measures beneficial. Experience in a consultancy environment or a background in quantitative and qualitative security risk assessment is preferred.
- The role requires the successful candidate to obtain UK SC Clearance. This typically requires a minimum of five years UK residency, though candidates who do not meet this residency requirement may still be considered.

- We will ask you to contribute to the strategic direction and implementation of our Security Advisory services.
- You will work directly with clients, primarily in the UK with opportunities in other regions, to understand their needs and risk appetite and help define security risks to their sites, businesses and operations.
- You will lead security risk assessment and management, oversee project delivery and manage teams across our Security Advisory team and wider Resilience, Security & Risk practice.
- You will work with clients to define appropriate project scopes and deliver projects, including managing technical leadership and commercial oversight.
- You will contribute to developing a pipeline of fee-earning work and take part in project and commercial management.
- You will help develop our internal tools, methods and service offerings to meet market needs and maintain technical excellence.
- You will advise clients on evaluating and managing security risks in the design and operation of their assets, including engagement with regulators and other stakeholders.
- You will partner with subject-matter experts and design teams to develop solutions that address security risks alongside other design and operational criteria.
