IT Technician

Salary: £22,000 - 27,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience working in an IT support or technical support role.
• Good knowledge of Windows operating systems and desktop hardware.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
• A professional and customer-focused approach.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a small team.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
• A willingness to learn new technologies and develop technical skills.
• Previous experience working within an education environment would be advantageous but is not essential.

Responsibilities:

• Provide first- and second-line technical support to staff and users.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
• Support Windows desktop and laptop devices.
• Install, configure and maintain IT equipment.
• Support network infrastructure and connectivity.
• Maintain and troubleshoot printers and photocopiers.
• Support classroom and presentation technology.
• Assist with the maintenance and support of telephone systems.
• Support CCTV and other technology systems.
• Assist with audio, sound and lighting equipment.
• Set up and prepare IT equipment for users and learning environments.
• Carry out routine maintenance and technical checks.
• Escalate complex technical issues where appropriate.
• Work collaboratively with other members of the IT Support Team.
• Provide a professional, responsive and customer-focused IT support service.
• Maintain accurate records of IT equipment, incidents and technical work.
