DevOps Engineer

Requirements:

• Strong, demonstrable hands-on experience with AWS CDK and CloudFormation specifically
• Solid AWS fundamentals across networking, IAM, and cloud security best practice
• Proven experience migrating an existing, unscripted environment to IaC end-to-end, rather than building IaC from greenfield

Responsibilities:

• Audit the current AWS environment, including networking, virtual security setup, and API infrastructure provisioning
• Migrate manually configured infrastructure into CDK and CloudFormation with proper environment separation across dev, staging, and production
• Tighten security and access policies as part of the migration
• Work alongside a small team of C#/.NET developers on a live production system without disrupting live services
• Document the new setup clearly so the in-house team can maintain it after handover

We are an established public sector-facing transport technology business with a fully remote working model. Our environment runs on a .NET Core / C# stack, and we are looking for someone to take ownership of modernising our organically grown AWS infrastructure. This is a 9+ month contract outside IR35, and the role is 100% remote. We offer the opportunity to lead a meaningful infrastructure modernisation effort from end to end, with responsibility for improving the platform properly rather than only documenting issues.
