Senior Cloud Network Engineer

Requirements:

• 7-8+ years of relevant Network, Cloud, or Infrastructure Engineering experience
• Strong hands-on networking across AWS, Azure, and GCP
• Proven experience designing and deploying networking within HPC environments
• Strong BGP and enterprise networking knowledge
• Extensive Cisco SD-WAN experience
• Hands-on Terraform and Ansible experience
• Experience with OpenStack networking is highly desirable
• Strong hybrid cloud and data centre connectivity experience
• Ability to demonstrate the majority of AWS, Azure, GCP, HPC, Cisco SD-WAN, Terraform, Ansible, BGP/Routing, Hybrid Cloud, and OpenStack in a hands-on engineering capacity

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership across the full engineering lifecycle, from requirements and technical design through to implementation, testing, troubleshooting, and handover
• Design, build, automate, and troubleshoot complex network environments across AWS, Azure, GCP, HPC, and enterprise infrastructure
• Work across AWS, Azure, and GCP networking
• Support High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments
• Handle enterprise networking, including BGP, routing, switching, segmentation, and security
• Design, deploy, integrate, and troubleshoot Cisco SD-WAN
• Use Terraform and Ansible for automation and Infrastructure as Code
• Work with OpenStack networking
• Build and support hybrid connectivity between on-premises data centres and multiple cloud platforms
• Troubleshoot complex network issues across cloud, HPC, SD-WAN, and enterprise environments
• Review existing environments, identify gaps, and drive optimisation, improvement, and redesign

We are a highly influential technology organisation designing energy-efficient microprocessor architecture. This is a 6-month rolling contract for a Senior Cloud Network Engineer in Cambridge with a hybrid setup of 2 days per week onsite. The rate is £700-£750 per day inside IR35. We are looking for a highly experienced, hands-on engineer who can work deeply within the technology and contribute across a major technology programme.
