Alternatives Data Operations Analyst
Job Description
Salary: £69,000 - 109,000 per year
Requirements:- Prior experience in the financial investment/advisory industry with knowledge of capital markets and middle-/back-office operations systems
- Preferably experience dealing with alternatives (private/draw-down) funds reporting statements and data
- Detail-oriented documentation skills with strong follow-through
- Track record of effective problem-solving, self-motivation, and strong teamwork
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for working with clients, custodial data providers, and internal partners
- Technical skills preferred in any or all of the following: Microsoft Excel, Google Suite, Atlassian Jira/Confluence, SQL, Python (Jupyter Notebook, Pandas, PySpark), Databricks, Bloomberg, PitchBook, or similar financial services systems and applications
- Strong proficiency using SQL and Databricks (PySpark) to navigate complex data architectures, extract custom audits, and validate high-volume datasets
- Exposure to or strong interest in using AI tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or automated API integrations to optimize code and daily data operational workflows
- Exceptional ability to interpret unstructured private market financial data such as Form D filings, capital account statements, or institutional investment briefs and translate them into clean, structured database taxonomies
- Must have and maintain the right to work in the United Kingdom from the first day of employment

- Work collaboratively with our UK team to investigate alternative investment attributes during UK working hours
- Research investments on our global database and classify them by asset type, vintage, and strategy
- Oversee and manage operational workflows for alternative data processing
- Develop and maintain effective process controls and accurate metrics to ensure quality standards
- Partner with the Research team to implement and run data quality validations
- Oversee the security master and security classification processes
- Independently manage and troubleshoot complex end-to-end data ingestion pipelines, resolving technical blockers in partnership with engineering teams
- Proactively explore and implement AI-assisted developer tools to optimize repetitive workflows, streamline document parsing, and shorten validation cycles
