Senior Full Stack Developer

Salary: £40,000 - 75,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong experience in full-stack software engineering in production environments, with delivery of end-to-end applications in live environments
• Strong backend development and API design skills in Java, Python, Go, or Node.js, including RESTful API design and integration patterns
• Experience with data visualisation and observability UI work, including Grafana panels, D3.js, charting libraries, and data-driven dashboards
• Applied AI/ML engineering experience in production, including AI capabilities such as anomaly detection and forecasting, plus familiarity with LLM APIs, prompting, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, and model lifecycle/MLOps basics
• Frontend engineering experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and React, Angular, or Vue, building performant and maintainable UIs
• Solid understanding of SQL/NoSQL and time-series storage and querying concepts
• Practical knowledge of observability concepts and tooling, including metrics, logs, traces, and how to instrument and consume them
• Hands-on integration experience with Kafka or equivalent streaming platforms

Responsibilities:

• Build and run the full-stack observability platform, designing, developing, and maintaining end-to-end applications for metrics, logs, and traces across both frontend and backend
• Develop telemetry ingestion and API services that ingest, process, store, and expose telemetry data reliably and at scale
• Deliver user-friendly visualisation experiences by creating responsive dashboards and UI workflows that help engineers explore, correlate, and act on observability signals quickly
• Integrate the platform with observability tools and data sources such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, OpenTelemetry, and Kafka-based event platforms
• Engineer reliable real-time streaming pipelines using Kafka Streams and Kafka Connect to move telemetry through the platform with appropriate throughput and latency
• Ensure resilience and operational robustness by implementing error handling, delivery guarantees, retries, DLQ patterns, recoverability, and safe failure modes
• Embed AI and ML-driven observability features such as anomaly detection, forecasting, predictive alerting, noise reduction, and automated root-cause analysis
• Operationalise LLM capabilities with strong AI engineering and MLOps, delivering production-grade features such as NLQ over telemetry, summarisation, incident triage, and on-call copilots using prompt engineering, RAG, evaluation, and guardrails
• Collaborate with DS and ML teams on model versioning, monitoring, retraining, drift detection, and low-latency inference in streaming and serving paths
