Quantitative Analyst (Rates Electronic Market Making)

Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in the algorithmic trading space
• Extensive programming experience
• Technology/programming skills in Rust, C++, Java, KDB, Python, and SQL
• Extensive experience in messaging and data serialization technologies, market data processing, API design, latency optimization, code testing, build and deployment tools
• Experience in taking ownership of existing technologies, building new ones, and performing technology migrations
• Working knowledge of rates financial instruments and mathematical tools used in algo trading
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
• Masters degree preferred

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement automated market-making models and data-driven trading tools for our rates business
• Improve and transform our infrastructure for automated market-making models and data-driven trading tools
• Implement electronic market-making models, including hedging algorithms, bid-offer models, price predictors, and automated pricing models, using programming languages such as Java, KDB, and Python
• Implement data-driven tools for trade recommendations and trading activity analysis
• Optimize and streamline our technology stack used for pricing, hedging, and trading analysis, including live pricing and backtesting
• Define and develop strategic improvements to our existing technology stack
• Keep abreast of technological innovations to facilitate adoption within our team and coordinate migrations from legacy systems
• Collaborate closely with Traders, technology professionals, and data specialists
• Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Electronic Trading Risk Management, Model Risk Management, and the Market Data Team to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure
• Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline, and ethics
• Define and disseminate technological best practices within our team
• Appropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions and ensure our team members do the same
• Be familiar with and adhere to our Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services
• Adhere to all policies and procedures as defined by the role
• Obtain and maintain all registrations/licenses required for the role within the appropriate timeframe
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for our reputation and safeguarding our company, clients, and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency
