Senior Systems Engineer - Linux

Salary: £44,000 - 84,000 per year

Requirements:

• We have deep knowledge and proven experience managing an enterprise Linux estate in a corporate environment, especially Red Hat-based systems.
• We have strong knowledge of Red Hat-based systems such as Satellite, IDM, and AAP.
• We have strong proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code tooling, especially Ansible and Terraform.
• We have robust experience deploying and managing DevOps tools, including K8s Helm charts, HashiCorp Vault, ArgoCD, Istio, AKS, EKS, and ECS.
• We have a solid infrastructure and OS background across Linux and Windows in an Active Directory environment.
• We have excellent scripting skills, such as Bash, Python, or equivalent.
• We have experience working with cloud platforms, with a focus on Azure and AWS ideally.
• We have experience deploying and maintaining VDI infrastructure, which is highly desirable.
• We have experience designing, deploying, and maintaining postfix.
• We have strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• We have strong verbal and written communication skills, and we listen to and take on board others points of view.
• We can manage our time, prioritise work, and work under pressure.
• We are self-starters with a proactive nature, while also being process and quality driven.
• We are business minded and focused on value-added outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• We research and identify the most appropriate options for the Systems Engineering team and the business.
• We design the architecture of the required infrastructure solution.
• We manage the deployment, maintenance, and upgrade paths of the infrastructure.
• We identify, deploy, and maintain appropriate connectivity options.
• We maintain and test Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans and systems.
• We contribute to the overall quality of service delivered to internal users and clients.
• We support the team in dealing with critical incidents.
• We contribute to the roadmap for the development and evolution of infrastructure and systems that meet current needs and scale for future business needs.
• We contribute to design improvements that allow for more efficient support of the environment, applications, and clients.
• We actively contribute to increasing the availability of our services through iterative improvements to existing infrastructure solutions.
• We deliver internal projects, BAU workstreams including patching and application and infrastructure support, and support internal users.
• We administer our Private Cloud technology stack.
