SAP Finance Functional Consultant

Salary: £50,000 - 75,000 per year

Requirements:

• Hands-on SAP S/4HANA Finance delivery across core FI and CO modules, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Cost Centre Accounting, Profit Centre Accounting, CO-PA, Allocations, and Product Costing.
• Ability to produce functional artefacts such as Business Process Solution Documents, configuration rationale, and RICEFW specifications.
• Experience translating business requirements into clear functional designs.
• Ability to support configuration, validation, and testing, and to identify risks early within scope.
• Finance process knowledge with genuine Record-to-Report depth.
• Knowledge of a second process such as Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, or Product Costing.
• Strong delivery and client skills, including running workshops and status discussions, managing client expectations and timelines, and holding realistic boundaries.
• Structured, analytical problem-solving and clear communication under pressure.
• Experience working in an AI-first delivery environment is a plus.
• Ability to take ownership, follow through, work well in a team, and build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Good judgement and critical thinking to handle ambiguous problems.
• Professional finance or accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent industry experience is a strong advantage.
• SAP certification is a strong advantage.
• Experience on complex, multi-entity or multi-country S/4HANA programmes is a strong advantage.
• Awareness of how controls, intercompany, or tax considerations shape a finance design is a strong advantage.
• Must be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC).

Responsibilities:

• Work on large-scale, business-led S/4HANA finance transformations.
• Sit with the clients finance team and turn their needs into a working design.
• See the design through to go-live.
• Support the wider workstream while owning your own scope.
• Run workshops and status discussions.
• Manage client expectations and timelines.
• Support configuration, validation, and testing.
• Flag risks early within your scope.
• Contribute to AI-first delivery approaches, including the use of agentic tooling and orchestration in design, analysis, and validation.
