Network Security Professional

Salary: £36,000 - 67,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for experience in security operations, ideally within a 2nd line environment, with a strong understanding of security fundamentals and incident ownership.
• We need good knowledge of security and networking technologies, including firewall troubleshooting, routing, and IP networking.
• We require strong operational discipline, with the ability to follow ticketing, change management, and governance processes while communicating effectively with customers and colleagues.
• We would value experience with industry-leading security platforms and vendors such as Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Cisco.
• We would value relevant industry certifications, including CompTIA Network+ and/or Security+.
• We would value CCNA certification or equivalent practical networking knowledge.
• We would value exposure to automation and scripting to support more efficient and scalable security operations.
• The successful candidate must be willing to undergo Government Security Clearance to SC level, which requires residence in the UK for a minimum of 5 years.

Responsibilities:

• We collaborate with a team of passionate engineers who share a commitment to building innovative, industry-leading platforms while continuously developing our own skills.
• We act as a key decision-maker during cyber incidents, ensuring mitigation controls and response measures are effective and appropriate.
• We provide expert security advice and remediation guidance to BTs Lines of Business and external customers.
• We own and complete integration testing for new products and services, including producing all necessary supporting documentation.
• We proactively support our team leader and line manager to achieve team objectives.
• We maintain full awareness of the importance of safeguarding sensitive customer information at all times, reinforcing our reputation as a trusted organisation.
• We provide specialist technical support on complex network security and cyber security deployments for UK contracts.
• We liaise with customer representatives or vendors and direct other support staff where appropriate.
• We support new products and services to help keep pace with industry and customer requirements.
