Data Engineer - Sales Data - Azure Databricks

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Python and SQL is essential.
• Strong understanding of data formats such as Delta and Iceberg.
• Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, CosmosDB, and SQL Server, is beneficial.
• Knowledge of data warehousing technologies such as Databricks SQL, Snowflake Warehouses, Amazon Redshift, and Google BigQuery.
• Experience with ETL processes, including Medallion Architecture and tools such as Apache Airflow, Fivetran, Azure Data Factory, and Amazon Glue.
• Familiarity with cloud computing services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge of big data frameworks like Apache Spark and Beam.
• Understanding of data modelling techniques.
• Proficiency in version control systems like Git.
• Awareness of data security practices and compliance regulations such as GDPR.
• Knowledge of data access methods and attribute-based access control (ABAC).
• A foundational understanding of machine learning concepts is beneficial.
• Experience in an Azure/Databricks environment is essential.
• Good understanding of sales data architecture from Salesforce.
• Experience supporting business projects using sales and product data.
• Ability to understand business definitions of uplift, upsell, cross sell, and cancellation.

Responsibilities:

• Support a critical business project using sales and product data to assess year-on-year data subscriptions growth.
• Map product sets to ensure retired products with superseded replacements are categorised correctly.
• Ensure the base data set correctly captures sales for the previous year and the current year.
• Work within an Azure/Databricks environment.
• Understand the sales data architecture from Salesforce.
• Contribute to data processing, data pipelines, and data quality activities as needed for the project.

The role is for a Data Engineer focused on sales data in an Azure/Databricks environment, based in London with hybrid working.
