Security Engineer - Security Operations
Job Description
Salary: £72,000 - 85,000 per year
Requirements:- We hold a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- We are an accomplished Security Operations Engineer with a track record of threat detection engineering within a security operations center (SOC) or similar environment.
- We bring hands-on experience with SIEM solutions, EDR, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security tools.
- We are proficient in scripting languages such as Python for automating security processes and customizing security tools.
- We have prior experience implementing infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.
- We have a strong understanding of networking protocols, cybersecurity frameworks, and attack vectors.
- We have exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex security incidents and provide effective solutions.
- We have excellent communication skills and can convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- We bring strong documentation skills for creating and maintaining threat detection rules, procedures, and incident reports.
- We are fluent in English; other languages are a plus.
- We design, implement, and maintain advanced threat detection solutions.
- We enhance threat detection and response by designing, implementing, and optimizing security tools, detection mechanisms, and secure configurations to identify and mitigate cybersecurity threats.
- We develop and optimize detection rules, signatures, and indicators of compromise (IOCs) across various security platforms.
- We continuously improve our security strategy and technology stack by staying up to date with industry trends, emerging threats, and evolving security best practices.
- We secure SaaS applications and infrastructure by implementing security best practices, access controls, and continuous monitoring.
- We ensure compliance with security frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and PCI-DSS by developing governance, implementing necessary controls, and securing business processes.
- We collaborate with non-engineering teams and IT to drive improvements by providing consultative expertise and advisory insights for business projects.
- We design, implement, and maintain secured cloud security technologies alongside the Product Security team to achieve security and compliance objectives across multiple cloud technologies.
