Job Description

Salary: £90,000 - 90,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Significant prior experience in a cloud engineering leadership role, with a strong foundation in successfully building and deploying services in the cloud
  • Deep knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure and GCP
  • Hands-on experience delivering software using multiple programming languages, and a thorough understanding of modern software engineering best practices
  • Deep experience with containerisation and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience architecting cloud infrastructure and taking it through to deployment and support
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams with product, design, and technical disciplines successfully collaborating
  • Understanding of DevOps, SRE and Platform Engineering, and their places within a modern digital organisation
  • Eligibility for SC clearance
  • 5 years continuous UK residency and 5 years employment history, or back to full-time education
  • Relevant cloud certifications are desirable, including AWS Cloud Practitioner, Developer, DevOps Engineer, Security, Advanced Networking, or Azure Developer, Security, DevOps, Network Engineer
Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality cloud-based technical solutions for our clients
  • Act in a leadership capacity in cross-functional teams, particularly where cloud engineering functionality forms an integral part of the teams output
  • Act as a final decision maker on difficult technical issues, working in consultation with team members and the client
  • Collaborate within cross-functional teams to design cloud architectures that meet client requirements around scalability, performance, and security
  • Deploy and manage cloud resources, containers, and related services using Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Configure and maintain networking, security, and access control in the cloud environment
  • Implement and maintain robust security practices to protect data and resources in the cloud environment
  • Develop and maintain automated processes for provisioning, monitoring, and scaling cloud resources, including CI/CD pipelines to streamline application deployments
  • Monitor cloud infrastructure for performance bottlenecks and proactively optimise resource usage
  • Implement load balancing, caching, and content delivery solutions to ensure high availability and performance
  • Design and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure business continuity in the event of system failures or data loss
  • Provide high tier support for client applications and infrastructure, including occasional on-call cover
  • Ensure necessary compliance standards are met and certifications are maintained
  • Act as a trusted specialist within Made Tech, consulting with clients and helping enhance the companys profile and reputation
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and share knowledge with the team
  • Collaborate with other teams within Made Tech to ensure alignment with cloud best practices
  • Line manage and mentor more junior colleagues to support their development, career goals, and performance
  • Act as a key member of our Cloud Practice, working as a thought leader and driving growth of our internal community
