Application Engineering Manager

Salary: £80,000 - 80,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong background in Application Support or Platform Operations.
• Experience supporting bespoke business-critical applications.
• Previous leadership, mentoring or team management experience.
• Cloud platform experience, with AWS preferred; Azure or GCP also considered.
• Experience working within Agile or DevOps environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and incident management skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience with MongoDB, Docker, Terraform, Java, SQL Server, APIs, or Microservices would be advantageous.

Responsibilities:

• Lead our platform engineering function and help drive reliability, performance, and continuous improvement.
• Provide operational excellence, including major incident management and platform reliability.
• Remain technically involved while leading a team.
• Shape the future direction of our platform through automation, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Offer technical leadership across platform operations.
• Manage and support team leadership activities.
• Work closely with stakeholders and engineering leadership on business-critical platforms.
