Salary: £30,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We are looking for a strong software engineer with a proven track record of building, shipping, and operating production systems.
  • We need experience leading technical work within a small team while remaining hands-on.
  • We value full-stack experience across backend, frontend, and cloud, ideally across multiple languages and frameworks.
  • We require familiarity with modern engineering practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, cloud infrastructure, and production support.
  • We are looking for experience mentoring, coaching, or supporting other engineers, along with strong interpersonal skills.
  • We want someone with initiative in using AI-assisted engineering tools and a formed perspective on their use.
  • Experience with production systems in regulated or operationally complex environments, such as airport or airline operations, is a strong advantage.
  • We cannot consider applicants who require visa sponsorship to work in the UK.
Responsibilities:
  • We will rely on you to design, build, test, and operate production software in a hands-on capacity.
  • We need you to lead the squads technical delivery by breaking down problems, aligning the team, and maintaining momentum.
  • You will make squad-scoped technical decisions, balancing speed, quality, maintainability, and sustainability.
  • You will set and uphold engineering standards through design, code review, testing discipline, and operational ownership.
  • You will strengthen engineering practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and reliable production operations.
  • You will encourage a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and technical curiosity.
  • You will integrate AI-assisted development tools into the squads workflow.
  • You will collaborate with product, design, and other stakeholders to deliver practical solutions to business problems.
  • You will coach and support a small squad of 1–4 engineers while working closely with the Engineering Manager and Product Owner.
