Senior Firmware Build, Release & CI/CD Engineer
Job Description
Salary: £45,000 - 80,000 per year
Requirements:- We require 6+ years of experience in DevOps, Build & Release, embedded software, or CI/CD roles.
- We require strong hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines.
- We require proficiency with tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar.
- We require solid scripting and automation skills in Python, shell, or similar.
- We require experience managing embedded firmware or platform software repositories.
- We require knowledge of firmware build components such as TF-A, UEFI, SCP, bootloaders, and Linux.
- We require strong Linux development and build system experience, including Make and CMake.
- We require an understanding of SoC architecture and embedded/platform software.
- We maintain, optimize, and grow CI/CD pipelines for embedded firmware and software codebases supporting the platform.
- We enable and configure repositories for different firmware components and platform programs.
- We help develop and manage distribution processes for firmware stacks such as TF-A, UEFI, SCP, bootloaders, Linux, and associated platform software.
- We build, maintain, and improve automated pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI.
- We automate firmware build, image generation, packaging, signing, versioning, and artifact publishing workflows.
- We support partner and customer releases by handling release branches, tags, artifacts, documentation, and delivery packages.
- We collaborate with firmware, infrastructure, verification, and QA teams to debug build failures, integration issues, and release blockers.
- We enable per-patch, nightly, and release validation routines to improve software quality and catch problems early.
- We maintain CI infrastructure, runners, build environments, scripts, and automation frameworks.
- We integrate and maintain static analysis, compliance, and security scanning tools such as Coverity and Black Duck.
- We drive standardization of build and release processes across firmware repositories and SoC programs.
- We improve developer productivity through automation, tooling, documentation, and self-service workflows.
- We track CI health, build failures, test trends, and release readiness through dashboards and reporting.
- We ensure timely support for release milestones, partner drops, customer deliveries, and internal engineering builds.

Our Reference Systems DevOps & QA team is seeking a hands-on Senior Embedded DevOps / Build & Release Engineer to help ensure reliable, scalable, and automated deployment of firmware stacks across multiple SoC programs.
