Requirements:

• Enterprise-scale data architecture experience
• Experience with AWS cloud data platforms
• Strong experience with Spark, PySpark, and Python
• Experience with Airflow and ELT/data processing
• Experience with data lakehouse and data products
• Experience with streaming and event-driven architecture
• Experience with data governance
• Experience defining architecture standards, patterns, and conducting technical design reviews
• Experience delivering data architecture that enables ML/AI platforms
• Strong engineering credibility with the ability to operate at both technical and senior stakeholder level
• Experience in Financial Services or another highly regulated environment is advantageous

Responsibilities:

• Shape the evolution of a large-scale, cloud-based data ecosystem
• Work across complex distributed data platforms
• Influence architecture direction across multiple engineering and data teams
• Operate as a technically hands-on senior architecture contributor
• Support architecture standards, patterns, and technical design reviews
• Collaborate with technical teams and senior stakeholders

We are a major UK organisation seeking a Senior Data Architect for an initial 6-month contract inside IR35. This is a London-based hybrid role with three days onsite per week. We are building and evolving a large-scale cloud data ecosystem, and this role will play a key part in shaping our architecture direction across engineering and data teams. We value deep technical credibility and the ability to contribute both strategically and hands-on in a complex, regulated environment.
