Job Description

Salary: £66,000 - 106,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We require a UK National who can achieve Security Clearance (SC) without caveats and maintain it before commencing employment.
  • We would consider a dual national from a non-ITAR country if approved by the MOD.
  • We typically require eligibility for full SC, including UK residence for the last 5 years, with some circumstances allowing a minimum of 3 years residence in the last 5 years with additional overseas checks.
  • We need proven experience working in a Systems Engineering environment.
  • We need strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
  • We need self-motivation, a professional approach, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • We require evidence of effective team working.
  • We need working knowledge of project plans, configuration control, and engineering safety management.
  • We need the ability to manage a project through a defined process and tailor CHORUS2 to project needs.
  • We need the ability to define metrics as part of quality assurance and control.
  • We need proficiency with IT tools such as MS Office and MS Visio.
  • We need sound ability with systems engineering tools such as DOORS, System Architect, and JIRA.
  • We would prefer an HNC, HND, Engineering Degree, or equivalent.
  • We would prefer an appropriate professional status, or that you are working towards one.
Responsibilities:
  • We manage the Systems Engineering process to company and international standards for defined packages of work.
  • We provide line management and technical leadership to Systems Engineers.
  • We convert requirements into conceptual designs and prepare associated documentation through operational analysis, simulations, and technical trade-off studies.
  • We support the development lifecycle and lifecycle products.
  • We interface with clients to gain approval of test specifications and host acceptance testing activities.
  • We help develop and execute test specifications, including test plans and test strategy documents.
  • We execute test specifications according to the test plan and project schedule.
  • We record and authorise results of test execution.
  • We raise, investigate, and verify defects.
  • We maintain quality targets and standards.
  • We prepare system and subsystem requirement specifications, interface requirements, and test requirement documents.
  • We analyse, decompose, model, and refine customer requirements.
  • We perform technical and engineering tasks to define system design and subsystem requirement details.
  • We carry out analysis and simulations to identify design feasibility and driving requirements.
  • We supervise staff by defining work, coaching them, monitoring progress, and directing priorities.
  • We propose work package estimates and descriptions to ensure compliant solutions at optimum cost.
  • We develop, implement, and maintain tools relevant to the Systems Engineering function.
  • We manage the assessment of relevant tools.
  • We define or propose updates to processes and standards covering the work and its products.
  • We keep abreast of technical developments in relevant domains, including sonar systems.
  • We manage the production of quality metrics to measure the soundness of the Systems Engineering processes under our control.
