Job Description

Salary: £95,000 - 130,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We require applicants to be willing and eligible to apply for and obtain UK Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance, or already hold the appropriate clearance.
  • We are looking for candidates with an Information Security qualification, or equivalent experience such as CISSP.
  • We expect in-depth knowledge of security frameworks, standards and best practices such as ISO 27001, NIST and CIS.
  • We want experience as a Security Architect or in a similar role, with a strong track record of designing and implementing security controls or solutions and leading technical teams.
  • We value experience with architecture methodologies such as TOGAF or SABSA.
  • We need experience in threat and risk modelling.
  • We expect a strong understanding of network security, encryption, authentication and access control mechanisms.
  • We look for experience with security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM systems and vulnerability assessment tools, including configuration options.
  • We value familiarity with cloud security principles and best practices, including securing cloud-based infrastructure and services across AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
  • We look for experience with DevSecOps.
  • We value experience researching technology trends and ways to secure emerging technologies.
  • We expect experience with automated deployment techniques and CI/CD pipelines.
  • We value experience working in or with government organisations, including handling assets subject to the Government Security Classification Policy.
  • We look for knowledge of government cyber requirements related to Defence and Security, such as Secure by Design and JSP 440.
Responsibilities:
  • We design technical security solutions and maintain supporting documentation and architecture patterns for new technologies and solutions.
  • We lead technical engagement and bring together technical security SMEs such as Identity, Security Testing and Privacy to solve business problems.
  • We develop relationships with key stakeholders and understand client security policy frameworks to design solutions that meet client requirements.
  • We understand client policies and security landscapes and create vision, principles and architecture solutions.
  • We articulate, communicate and justify design decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
  • We maintain relationships with senior technical stakeholders.
  • We learn new vendor technologies and translate how they solve client problems by producing the technical design to be adopted.
  • We collaborate with vendors and third-party partners to help secure external systems and data exchanges.
  • We provide specialist technical advice, recommended approaches and security controls, and identify solutions that meet client business objectives.
  • We develop and maintain security architectures aligned to business goals, industry standards, established patterns and regulatory requirements.
  • We stay current on emerging security threats, technologies and best practices, and recommend improvements.
  • We conduct security audits and assessments to identify gaps and recommend remediation actions.
  • We conduct risk assessments and scope vulnerability assessments to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
