Golang Developer

Salary: £75,000 - 75,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for an experienced software engineer with professional experience in backend development.
• We require commercial experience developing backend applications or services using Golang.
• We need a strong understanding of software engineering principles, algorithms, and data structures.
• We require experience working across the full software development lifecycle.
• We require experience using Git and collaborative development practices.
• We require experience with Docker and containerised application delivery.
• We need knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• We require the ability to understand and discuss how different languages, APIs, and services integrate.
• We need strong communication and collaboration skills.
• We require the ability to work onsite in Farnborough three days per week.
• We require eligibility to undergo SC Security Clearance.
• We require sole UK nationality.
• Desirable experience includes Java or Python, AWS or Azure, Kubernetes, Agile and DevSecOps environments, web security and secure coding principles, mentoring or leading other engineers, and experience within Defence, National Security, or another secure environment.

Responsibilities:

• We design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable backend services using Golang.
• We build and integrate APIs and services across complex technical environments.
• We contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from design through deployment.
• We write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• We use Git for collaborative development, code reviews, and version control.
• We build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated testing processes.
• We use Docker to support consistent application deployment.
• We work closely with platform, infrastructure, and engineering teams to integrate software solutions.
• We participate in technical design discussions and code reviews.
• We mentor and support other engineers where appropriate.
