Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: £75,000 - 75,000 per year

Requirements:

• Commercial experience in an infrastructure or systems engineering role
• PowerShell scripting for install automation
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Exchange messaging systems
• Proxmox environment management, including VM and template creation
• VMware vSphere administration, including VMs and virtual switches
• Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, OUs and Group Policy experience
• WSUS experience, ideally in airgapped environments
• Experience managing secure removable-media processes
• Server hardening and security baselining experience, ideally CIS-aligned
• Solid networking fundamentals across LAN/WAN, routers, switches and firewalls
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills
• Willingness to travel as required
• Degree in a technology-related field is desirable, but not essential
• 5 years experience in a high-tech environment, with telecoms experience a plus
• Full UK driving licence
• Willingness to undergo Developed Vetting (DV) clearance, or existing security clearance already held

Responsibilities:

• Field install and support the infrastructure hosting our core products, often within secure environments
• Harden and secure client PCs and servers in line with recognised government and industry security standards
• Administer Domain Controllers, including FSMO roles, high availability and replication monitoring
• Run patch management schedules across Windows Server and client estates
• Deploy and maintain antivirus and SIEM tooling
• Support customer hardware and software upgrades, as well as new infrastructure rollouts
• Deliver training and knowledge transfer, one-to-one or in small groups
• Provide remote support and join customer troubleshooting calls
• Take part in an on-call rotation to support 24x7 customer coverage

This is a broad, hands-on infrastructure role with genuine scope to expand into Linux, Kubernetes and cloud as our environment evolves. You will be based onsite three days a week in Hampshire, commutable from Farnborough, Basingstoke, Guildford or Woking, with occasional travel to customer sites in the UK and internationally.
