Requirements:- Extensive experience in performance architecture, performance engineering, and system optimization.
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles and distributed system design.
- Expertise in defining and managing non-functional requirements (NFRs).
- Experience creating sizing models, capacity planning strategies, and workload forecasting approaches.
- Deep knowledge of application, database, middleware, cloud, and infrastructure performance tuning.
- Proven ability to conduct end-to-end performance assessments and bottleneck analysis.
- Experience with performance testing methodologies and industry-standard monitoring tools.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, working with CTOs, enterprise architects, and senior leadership.
- Knowledge of cloud-native architectures, microservices, and large-scale distributed platforms.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical decision-making capabilities.
- Define and govern the end-to-end performance strategy for applications, platforms, and enterprise solutions.
- Partner with enterprise architects, CTOs, and program leadership teams to ensure performance is considered throughout the solution lifecycle.
- Establish and validate non-functional requirements (NFRs) for scalability, availability, reliability, and response times.
- Develop sizing models, capacity plans, and workload forecasts to support business growth and operational demands.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve performance bottlenecks across application, database, integration, infrastructure, and cloud layers.
- Provide architecture recommendations to optimize system throughput, resilience, and resource utilization.
- Lead performance assessments during solution design, development, testing, and production readiness reviews.
- Define performance engineering standards, frameworks, tools, and governance processes across delivery teams.
- Drive performance risk management activities and recommend mitigation strategies for critical business systems.

We are supporting a client working on behalf of the British postal service and courier company to hire a Performance Architect for a hybrid role with three days onsite in London. This is a 12-month assignment with the likelihood of further extension. The role is focused on embedding performance engineering principles across the full solution lifecycle and influencing enterprise-wide technology decisions to ensure scalable, resilient, and high-performing platforms and applications.
