Requirements:

• Active SC Clearance is essential
• Experience in enterprise data architecture
• Experience with data warehousing, data lakes, and lakehouse solutions
• Experience with data modelling and data governance
• Experience with ETL/ELT architecture
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
• Experience with data virtualisation
• Experience with analytics and BI platforms such as Power BI, SAS, R, or similar
• Experience with APIs and data integration
• Experience working in Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD delivery environments
• Experience delivering large-scale public sector or regulated industry programmes is highly beneficial

Responsibilities:

• Design enterprise data architectures, including data modelling, governance, metadata, lineage, and quality
• Define modern data platforms including data lakes, data warehouses, and lakehouse architectures
• Design ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration solutions
• Advise on cloud-based data platforms, virtualisation, and modern analytics architectures
• Provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from design through to implementation
• Support architecture governance, best practice, and technical assurance
• Work with engineering teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions across Agile environments

We are supporting a major UK public sector digital transformation programme and looking for an experienced Data Architect to join a high-profile delivery team designing enterprise-scale data and analytics solutions. This is a 6-month contract role based in Telford with a hybrid working pattern of 2 days onsite per week, paid at £550 to £600 per day inside IR35.
