Solution Architect

Salary: £55,000 - 60,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience as an Application Architect or Solution Architect with a strong platform background
• Ability to act as a design authority for application and platform architecture
• Experience assessing and approving applications, platforms, and system changes against agreed standards
• Experience supporting build vs buy decisions and vendor evaluations
• Strong understanding of integration patterns, data flows, and interoperability standards
• Ability to design scalable, well-governed architectures for AI and digital innovation initiatives
• Experience identifying and managing architectural risks and technical debt
• Ability to collaborate with delivery teams, product owners, security, and compliance stakeholders
• Experience maintaining architecture documentation such as capability maps, system relationship diagrams, and data flow models

Responsibilities:

• Act as design authority for application architecture across the organisation
• Assess and approve proposed applications, platforms, and system changes against agreed standards
• Provide architectural input into build vs buy decisions and vendor evaluations
• Define and maintain integration patterns, data flows, and interoperability standards
• Ensure the application estate is secure, well-integrated, and aligned with the broader technology strategy and governance framework
• Shape and enable our AI and digital innovation programme by designing scalable, well-governed architectures
• Support Labs initiatives by enabling safe experimentation without creating complexity or technical debt
• Identify and manage architectural risks and technical debt across the application estate
• Collaborate closely with delivery teams, product owners, and security and compliance stakeholders
• Own our application landscape documentation, including capability maps, system relationship diagrams, and data flow models
