Job Description

Salary: £50,000 - 90,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We require you to be conversant with Military and Commercial CM standards.
  • We require you to be able to implement CMDM planning to manage project and product-related data, controlled and classified artefacts in compliance with US and UK export controls, legal, and contractual requirements.
  • We require a demonstrable industrial background in Configuration Management, working in a technical environment interfacing with systems, software, hardware, and test engineering disciplines.
  • We require experience in the execution and development of core configuration management processes, including configuration planning, control, identification, configuration status accounting and reporting, data library/repository management, product release and delivery, and configuration audits.
  • We require experience with configuration management tools and advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access, or other database experience involving schema definition and data manipulation.
  • We require working knowledge of CMDM requirements within engineering development and product-in-service lifecycles.
  • We require the ability to evaluate programme documents for impact on CM processes.
  • We require the ability to work on your own initiative with minimal supervision and a self-motivated attitude.
  • We require that you have or can achieve SC-level clearance.
  • We would value CMIIB or another recognised CM specialist certification.
  • We would value working knowledge of Knowledge in Defence (KiD), Defence Standard 05-57, or ISO 10007.
  • We would value knowledge of MBSE development or experience with the Polarion tool.
  • We would value working knowledge of the PTC Windchill configuration management tool.
Responsibilities:
  • We apply and administer Configuration Management and Data Management (CMDM).
  • We construct Configuration Management Plans, integrating subcontractor plans and customer plans as required.
  • We administer configuration control systems and processes, including collaboration with subcontractor configuration management.
  • We manage configuration control boards, including producing agendas, facilitating internal and external meetings, and documenting outcomes and actions.
  • We perform data management oversight, including maintaining and administering data repositories and libraries generated by programmes.
  • We audit programme and product data for compliance with customer, security, and programme standards.
  • We perform configuration status accounting and reporting.
  • We prepare for and participate in programme and technical gate reviews and configuration baseline audits as required by the programme.
  • We act as the Control Account Manager (CAM) for CMDM resources and activities and compile Basis of Estimate (BOE).
  • We participate in Estimate at Completion (EAC) reviews for existing and new programmes.
  • We take part in risk management reviews as required and report to the function.
  • We advise project staff on configuration management policies and standards and apply them pragmatically to solve business requirements efficiently and effectively.
  • We participate in CMDM training and coaching of our staff with the skills needed to support the business.
  • We collaborate with other our sites and businesses to implement new configuration management tools and develop common processes, skills, working practices, and methodologies.
