2nd Line Engineer

Salary: £30,000 - 40,000 per year

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role
• Strong working knowledge of Windows Server 2012/2016/2019 and Microsoft 365
• Good understanding of networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, Wi-Fi, switches, routers and firewalls
• Knowledge of backup and security solutions
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and manage multiple requests
• Logical and methodical approach to problem-solving
• Full clean UK driving licence
• Understanding of Microsoft Azure
• Knowledge of server hardware
• Apple Mac experience
• Knowledge of VoIP systems
• Microsoft, CompTIA and/or ITIL certifications

Responsibilities:

• Provide 2nd line technical support for Windows desktops, laptops, hardware and software
• Support Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, permissions and Group Policy
• Support Microsoft 365, including Exchange, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint and Entra ID
• Troubleshoot network and server issues
• Work on SLA-based technical support calls
• Write and update user and system documentation
• Undertake remote project work for the Helpdesk
• Attend client sites as required to complete support tickets and/or project work
• Prioritise and escalate tickets where required
• Work alongside manufacturers and vendors to troubleshoot technical issues
• Maintain accurate ticket notes and ensure effective customer communication
