Requirements:
  • Must be a UK citizen and available to interview in person
  • Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience
  • Proven expertise in backend microservice design and development, preferably using Golang
  • Strong experience developing modern web frontends, preferably using Angular
  • Solid foundation in automated testing and debugging, including unit, integration, and performance-profiling tools
  • Experience designing and maintaining scalable microservices in a distributed SaaS cloud environment
  • Excellent collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Preferred technologies: Golang, Angular, Java, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CloudBees/Jenkins
  • Hands-on experience with cloud databases such as Amazon DynamoDB, Aurora, or Snowflake is preferred
  • Experience building data-streaming and event-driven architectures with Apache Kafka or Apache Flink is preferred
  • Experience or strong interest in AI-assisted software development and agentic engineering practices
  • Comfort with prompting, agentic workflows, and human-in-the-loop review of AI-generated code
  • Familiarity with AI development tools such as Cursor and Claude Code, Python-based AI/ML libraries such as scikit-learn, pandas, and NumPy, deep-learning frameworks such as PyTorch, and LLMs and foundation models in Bedrock, Vertex AI, or similar is relevant to the role
Responsibilities:
  • Architect, build, and deliver high-performance cloud services that support the core decision-making functions of our identity platform
  • Design resilient full-stack solutions using Golang and Angular
  • Engineer synchronous and event-driven microservices
  • Use AI-assisted and agentic development workflows, applying engineering judgment to review, validate, and own shipped work
  • Work with product managers, UX designers, architects, and global engineering colleagues to turn identity governance concepts into secure, performant production systems
  • Contribute to technical excellence through architecture reviews, system profiling, and developer mentorship
  • Complete engineering onboarding, environment setup, and security compliance training, and learn the Policy Engine architecture, API contracts, and deployment pipelines
  • Deliver production bug fixes and feature contributions, then build, test, and deploy end-to-end features for real-time and batch policy evaluation workflows
  • Define technical specifications and estimates with technical leads, architects, and product managers
  • Conduct code reviews and collaborate on unit and integration testing strategies
  • Lead the design, implementation, and deployment of complex features across the Policy Engine and SailPoint Agentic Fabric
  • Establish debugging and performance-profiling benchmarks to improve service latency, throughput, and reliability
  • Participate in the engineering on-call rotation, approximately one week in 20, and drive operational improvements
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Policy Engine services and distributed system architecture
  • Mentor and coach junior and mid-level software engineers in software design patterns, Golang, Angular, and AI-assisted tooling
  • Drive cross-functional architectural initiatives with engineering teams worldwide
