Salary: £59,000 - 99,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We require a bachelors or masters degree in computer science, or equivalent experience.
  • We require proven experience with planlogic EOS ETRM and Palantir Foundry.
  • We require demonstrated IT industry experience designing, planning, implementing, maintaining, and documenting solutions.
  • We require proven experience designing, building, and transforming big data in Palantir, including code repositories, contour, and workshop.
  • We require experience leading a team of data engineers in an agile environment using scrums, tasks, and prioritisation.
  • We require ownership of scheduling and ingestion using tools such as Stonebranch (UAC) and AWS.
  • We require strong software engineering development skills.
  • We require strong communication skills to translate business requirements independently into a full data workflow from ingestion to presentation layer.
  • We require strong software engineering design capabilities and understanding of computational complexity.
  • We require hands-on experience in C#, object-oriented Python, Spark/PySpark, and related C# and Python framework ecosystems.
  • We require the ability to debug and resolve issues in large datasets quickly.
  • We require experience coordinating handoffs between time zones and allocating priorities to a development team.
  • We value experience in other trading systems or ETRMs, operational experience running business-critical systems, DevOps experience with AWS and Azure DevOps in a Linux environment, Power BI and business analysis experience, and market data experience such as Trayport and Ice.
Responsibilities:
  • We lead, design, develop, and maintain digital products in our LNG Energy Trading and Risk Management landscape.
  • We design sophisticated backend components, services, platforms, and RESTful APIs for seamless communication with the front end.
  • We design front-end components and integrate them with back-end systems to enable smooth data exchange.
  • We design pipelines to ingest data and monitor datasets.
  • We continuously review services and components to identify improvement opportunities.
  • We identify and address technical debt.
  • We influence and deliver the product roadmap to improve our KPIs and deliver business value.
  • We develop our teams software engineering and data analytical skills.
  • We own our teams culture and ways of working, promoting high-quality code, tests, and best practices.
  • We write hands-on code in Python, SQL, and C#.
  • We mentor and line-manage team members.
  • We work closely with business users, stakeholders, software engineers, product managers, UX designers, data analysts, scientists, tech leads, and architects.
  • We participate in feature development, performance enhancements, and technical support for other teams.
  • We contribute to the evolution of the current technology platform and the long-term strategy and roadmap.
