Senior Technical Consultant - Cloud

Salary: £90,000 - 90,000 per year

Requirements:

• Extensive experience, ideally around 10 years, in IT infrastructure with a significant focus on designing, deploying, transforming, and supporting critical IT systems using public cloud, especially Azure.
• Deep expert knowledge of Microsoft Azure as both a technical lead and support specialist.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Entra ID, including PIM and Conditional Access, Azure Key Vault, Azure Policy, Microsoft Sentinel, Defender for Cloud, Azure networking, compute, and storage.
• Deep, hands-on expertise with Terraform is essential; Bicep is a plus.
• Advanced PowerShell skills.
• Strong foundations in Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, PKI, and core networking principles.
• Client-facing excellence with the ability to lead technical discussions, explain technical concepts to senior stakeholders, and build trust.
• Problem-solving ability for complex, multi-faceted technical challenges.
• Commercial acumen to design solutions that meet client commercial needs and budget.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services is desirable, including VPC, EC2, S3, IAM, and Security Groups.
• Familiarity with Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, or Power BI is desirable.
• Experience with Azure Migrate and database migration strategies is desirable.
• Experience with RHEL or Ubuntu in a cloud context is desirable.
• Kubernetes (AKS) and Docker experience is desirable.
• One or more of the following certifications are required: AZ-305 or AZ-500.
• Desirable certifications include AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, CISSP or other security certifications, and Terraform Certified Associate.

Responsibilities:

• Own the technical design and delivery for cloud managed services.
• Design high-level and low-level secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions primarily on Azure and increasingly on AWS.
• Act as the primary technical lead for cloud projects.
• Support queries and serve as the escalation point for complex incidents and problems that support teams cannot resolve.
• Work closely with pre-sales and sales teams and the Cloud Architect to design compelling solutions.
• Validate technical requirements and provide accurate effort-scoping for new client proposals and MSAs.
• Drive the adoption of modern cloud-native practices, including Infrastructure as Code, DevSecOps principles, and containerisation.
• Guide and mentor cloud engineers, fostering technical excellence and professional development.
• Lead technical strategy for the cloud practice and ensure secure, scalable, impactful solutions are delivered to an exceptional standard.
