Senior Solution Architect

Salary: £55,000 - 95,000 per year

Requirements:

• We have experience in the insurance domain, ideally across underwriting, claims, or policy issuance, with Guidewire experience preferred.
• We bring exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills, with strong attention to detail.
• We have excellent planning, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• We understand the design and implementation of solutions and systems using custom-built and COTS/MOTS applications hosted in cloud and on-premises environments.
• We have experience designing solutions including policy administration systems, ERP, and customer- or agent-facing portals.
• We have substantial knowledge of the system development life cycle and scaled agile methodology.
• Certifications are preferred, and TOGAF certification is a significant plus.
• We can work at the highest technical level across all phases of system architecture design, using state-of-the-art rule/framework-based architecture, object-oriented component analysis, and web-based, service-based, and enterprise application architecture.
• We can guide and mentor development teams on sound design and coding principles, best practices in API-based, microservices, and cloud technologies.
• We have experience in integration architectures, from service bus to API mediation and event bus models.
• We have strong knowledge of contemporary technologies and business trends that enables creative and cost-effective architecture solutions.

Responsibilities:

• We develop application and system roadmaps associated with application transformation and modernization.
• We develop flexible, adaptable, modular, and reusable solution designs in collaboration with business stakeholders and IT development teams, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
• We support the definition of high-level operational models and prepare business cases in alignment with IT security and quality guidelines.
• We present business cases for operational and tactical technical initiatives for approval, funding, and prioritization.
• We uphold solution architecture governance processes and tools while maintaining focus on design patterns and technology standards.
• We act as the accountable individual for the finalization, acceptance, and approval of solutions we architect, by relevant stakeholders.
• We enable Agile and DevSecOps practices in collaboration with product delivery and operation support teams.
• We explore, evaluate, and promote technology innovation within the organization.
• We review high-level designs with technical leads and developers, review code, enforce best practices, assist with debugging critical issues, and enforce performance testing to deliver efficient and performant applications.
• We identify technology risks for initiatives we lead as architects and develop corresponding mitigation strategies.
• We stay current on, evaluate, and recommend cutting-edge technologies and methods, considering technical pros and limitations.
• We leverage market and technology trends to identify business benefits of alternative technical solutions.
• We support the requirements gathering process to right-size initiatives and shape solution strategy.
• We collaborate with development teams and assist with the application of Agile and DevSecOps techniques within architecture and designs.
• We create comprehensive solution architecture specification documents and other required documentation.
• We help maintain a business unit-level repository of architecture assets and promote reuse across the organization.
