Senior Lead Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require formal training or certification in infrastructure disciplines and 8+ years of applied experience.
• We require hands-on experience installing, migrating, and decommissioning Broadcom (formerly Bluecoat) devices, including Proxy SG, Secure Web Gateway (ISG), Symantec Content Analysis Systems (CAS), SSL Visibility appliances, and Symantec Management Center (SMC).
• We require experience with SaaS-based Secure Gateway vendors such as Zscaler or Netskope.
• We require the ability to build, test, and deploy proxy-based security solutions.
• We require a strong understanding of network infrastructure, network security concepts, application-layer protocols such as HTTP/HTTPS, and vulnerability mitigation.
• We require a strong understanding of REST APIs and container-based deployment models.
• We require understanding of version and revision control practices and procedures.
• We require proficiency with SIEM tools for investigative purposes.
• We require scripting skills for automation of proxy environments, including shell, Python, and Ansible playbooks.
• We require expertise in networking fundamentals, including network topology, VLANs, routing, switching, global and local load balancing, and firewalls.
• We require flexibility to work off-hours and weekends in a 24x7 on-call rotation.

Responsibilities:

• We manage client and stakeholder relationships, including client consultations, communication of expected completion dates, and ongoing expectation management.
• We contribute to process management and improvement by updating and creating documentation and runbooks in line with engineering standards.
• We provide advanced troubleshooting and support for proxy issues.
• We collaborate with other IT and business teams to align proxy solutions with organizational goals.
• We contribute to change management process improvement by building standardized change implementation templates.
• We provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
