Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in Cloud Solutions Architecture, Cloud Architecture, or Infrastructure Architecture.
• Strong hands-on architecture experience across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Proven experience designing multi-cloud and hybrid cloud solutions.
• Strong HPC / High Performance Computing experience.
• Excellent understanding of enterprise infrastructure and data centre environments.
• Strong networking knowledge, particularly BGP, routing, segmentation, and hybrid connectivity.
• Experience with Cisco SD-WAN / Viptela is highly desirable.
• Strong Terraform and/or Ansible experience.
• Ability to move comfortably between high-level architecture and low-level technical detail.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and technical leadership skills.
• Experience taking solutions from requirements and architecture through to implementation and operational handover.

Responsibilities:

• Design and own complex cloud solutions and infrastructure architectures across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Develop HLDs, LLDs, technical designs, architecture roadmaps, and implementation strategies.
• Design and optimise hybrid cloud connectivity between on-premises data centres and multiple public cloud platforms.
• Work with HPC / High Performance Computing environments, supporting the design and deployment of high-performance infrastructure and networking solutions.
• Assess existing environments, identify technical gaps, and drive redesign, optimisation, and modernisation.
• Design secure, scalable, and resilient cloud platforms aligned to enterprise requirements.
• Work across cloud networking, routing, segmentation, security, and connectivity where required.
• Provide architectural direction across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Work closely with engineering teams through implementation, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and handover.
• Lead technical discussions with senior stakeholders and translate complex technical requirements into practical solutions.
• Produce clear technical documentation and contribute to architecture standards and best practice.
• Support automation and Infrastructure as Code using technologies such as Terraform and Ansible.

We are a highly influential tech organisation that designs energy-efficient microprocessor architecture. This is a 6 month rolling contract offering a rate of £750 per day inside IR35, based in Cambridge with a hybrid working arrangement of 2 days per week onsite. We are looking for a Senior Cloud Solutions Architect to work in a technically complex environment, shaping cloud and infrastructure solutions, translating requirements into robust architectures, and staying close to the technology to support implementation, integration, and troubleshooting. We value genuine Cloud Solutions Architects with breadth across multi-cloud environments and the technical depth to get into the detail when required. The technical environment includes AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, multi-cloud and hybrid cloud architecture, HPC, enterprise networking, and automation using Terraform, Ansible, Python, and CI/CD. Nice-to-have experience includes OpenStack, Kubernetes, container platforms, cloud security architecture, and Zero Trust.
