Senior Backend Engineer (Java/.Net & Microservices)

Requirements:

• Strong commercial experience with C#/.NET and Java (Spring Boot).
• Proven delivery of microservices and REST APIs.
• Experience with distributed systems and enterprise integration.
• Strong SQL experience, ideally with SQL Server and/or Oracle.
• Senior Engineer or Tech Lead level experience with the ability to mentor others, challenge requirements, and engage confidently with stakeholders.
• Experience delivering within complex enterprise environments.
• Financial services experience is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop backend services using C#/.NET and Java (Spring Boot).
• Build and support REST APIs and microservices.
• Contribute to architecture, technical design, and system integration.
• Troubleshoot, optimise, and support production systems.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and mentor other engineers.
• Take end-to-end ownership of delivery, including debugging, optimisation, and resolving production issues.
• Apply sound engineering principles and contribute to solution design and technical decisions.

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for a 6-month+ contract on an Inside IR35 basis, working in a hybrid arrangement with 2 days per week on site in London.
